Laurie Thomsen

Director, The Travelers Companies & MFS Mutual Funds

Laurie Thomsen serves as a director of The Travelers Companies and MFS Mutual Funds.  For the last four years Laurie was an Executive Partner at New Profit, Inc. where she had served on the board for the prior six years. Prior to that she was a co-founding General Partner of Prism Venture Partners, a venture capital firm investing in healthcare and technology companies where she worked from 1995 until 2004.  From 1984 until 1995, she worked at the venture capital firm Harbourvest Partners in Boston, where she was a General Partner. Ms. Thomsen started her career in commercial lending at U.S. Trust Company of New York.  Ms. Thomsen is currently a Trustee of Williams College, and KickStart, an organization that sells treadle pumps to farmers in Africa to enable them to move out of poverty.  Laurie is an Overseer at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and on the Visiting Committee of the Williams College Museum of Art.  She previously served on the Board of Horizons for Homeless Children for 13 years.  Laurie and her husband, Peter, live in Williamstown, MA.
